A typical Reiki session lasts between 30-60 minutes. However, the length of the session may vary depending on the practitioner and the client's needs.


You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to relax and breathe deeply. You do not need to wear special clothing or remove any clothing for a Reiki session.


Involves using crystals or gemstones to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Different crystals have specific energetic properties that can influence the body's energy field or chakras to improve well-being.


 The goal is to prepare your body and mind to be open and receptive.

  • Hydrate well: Drink clean, filtered water or herbal tea
  • Light, nourishing foods: Fruits, vegetables, whole grains.
  • Avoid heavy meals: Stay away from greasy or overly processed food.
  • Limit stimulants: Minimize caffeine, sugar, and alcohol beforehand.


 The focus shifts to integration, grounding, and self-care.

  • More water: Helps flush out any energetic toxins or emotional releases.
  • Grounding foods: Root vegetables (carrots, beets, sweet potatoes), grains (brown rice, oats), and proteins. 
  • Herbal teas: Chamomile, peppermint, or nettle for calming and support.
  • Avoid overstimulation: Keep caffeine, alcohol, and processed foods to a minimum right after.


Most people feel warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of peace during Reiki. Some may feel emotional release, like tears or memories surfacing, especially when processing stress or grief. Physically, Reiki does not hurt — it involves only light touch or hands held above the body. Any emotional intensity is considered part of the healing process. 


Reiki is considered safe and has no known side effects.
 

It should not replace medical care for serious conditions, but it can complement it (like reducing stress, easing anxiety, or helping with sleep).
